I've decided to wear my hair curly. I've been completely natural for a good nine months now but I've always worn it straight. I chopped off my hair in 09' because I was so tired of my look. I had the short bob going on by this time and it was tiiiiired. So I cut it. Since I cut my hair, my
new hair dresser at the time, Karen Gary, (Check her out! http://www.synergisalon.com ) talked me into going natural.
I made the transition with relaxed to natural hair with my short cut. I fell in love with my short hair and I really don't want to grow it out right now. I just want to learn how to rock the short curly style.
The main reason I'm wearing my hair curly is because I work out too much! You can't have straight natural hair and work out 5 days a week. Your hair won't stay straight. It just becomes a big bush and I have to put heat on it to look presentable after workouts. Everyone knows too much heat is horrible for the hair so I'm going to try the curls. I refuse to give up my workout regimen, especially since I'm training for marathon numero dos! (updates to come) If it was up to me I would always wear the wig straight. It is just my preference. But healthy hair is more important to me than straight hair. Blah blah blah. Therefore changes have to be made. *sigh*

The problem is I'm not into hair. I never have been. As long as it looks decent and I have on a bangin outfit I'm good. Hair styling or hair care is not my forte! I know my weakness so I've looked to natural hair experts for their advice. The main source I've been getting my information from is The Moptop Maven. This lady's hair is beautiful and her blog is amazing. If you need any help on how to have fabulous natural hair start here. http://moptopmaven.blogspot.com I've also been giving my girls Brandy and Autumn an ear full since they have fabulous natural hair as well.
I hope my family and friends can keep my encouraged on this curly journey. I don't have the patience to keep myself going. OH! And let me just say, I will not be that natural girl wearing flowers in her head all the time. NO. I'm not trying to be funny but those hair flowers can be a disaster. 85% of the time you see a natural woman who didn't do her hair and thought, let me add a flower to this mess to give it some flare. STOP! I've seen some people rock them right but mostly I just want them to stop. Now. I don't want to look a mess ya'll. I won't. I just can't.
I will keep everyone updated on my curly transition. If you have any suggestions on products and styling. Let me know! Thank you! *whitley voice*
