This lenten season has been life altering for me. The spiritual growth I have acquired during this 46 day period exceeds the growth I have had over the last year. As my girl Oprah would say, I've had an "ah-ha" moment! More like an "ah-ha" experience.
It all started when I decided to do a Daniel fast for the first 21 days of lent. Anyone that really knows me, knows that I love food. Love it! I can be having the worst day but a wonderful meal can make the woes of the day disappear honey! Not having food to comfort me for three weeks forced me to lean on the Lord. The purpose of my fast was to find clarity on God's will for my life. As I prayed and/or meditated three times a day, rhema words began to flow from my daily devotionals and my Pastor's sermons. I was shedding pounds from my body and confusion from my mind.
"Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked......but whose delights in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. This person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither - whatever they do prospers."
Psalms 1:1-3
After the Daniel fast kicked my behind, the lenten season wasn't done with me yet. I had revelation after revelation. Revelations about my professional goals and my personal relationships. Revival at my church a couple of weeks ago was all about "a call to greatness" and I heard that message loud and clear. God wants us to live our lives boldly! I'm always talking about dressing boldly but every facet of our lives should be this way. Enjoy your life, not matter what situation you are in. Yesterday my pastor's wife said, "This isn't a dress rehearsal, you better live your life!" I totally agree. MAKE time for the things you are passionate about and your purpose will find you!
"For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline"
2 Timothy 1:7
I'm taking everything I've learned this season and putting it into action! As this blog is concerned, I will continue to share my passion for fashion, fitness and most importantly God. I know I might lose some readers but you can't wear a cute outfit and feel ugly inside. Beauty starts from within.
If you are struggling with something in your life, I encourage you to look to the word of God for your answers. I've learned that I don't know how to deal with certain situations because I do not know the word like I should. Don't keep asking your friend for advice. I'm not trying to be funny but your lost friend can not give you the answers. Surround yourself with people that want to see you grow and flourish! When you leave this world, you want to say,"I did that thing!" (Another Oprah saying, hehehe). Oh! If you haven't watched Oprah's Lifeclass, please do. Whatever you are going through, I dare you to give that thing to God and see Him work it out!
Happy Tuesday!
