The Proposal

One of my sorority sisters sent this to me the other day and I had to share it with you all! This little video was added to you tube on my birthday so I felt like it was my duty to pass on the love. It made me so happy! I cried. Hard.  I'm not trying to be funny but if he proposed to me, I'd say yes! I hope this brightens your day!

Happy Hump Day!

What's Mine, is Yours!

"And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had.  They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need"
Acts 2: 44-45

Everyday we hear about someone in need.  Someone's car broke down.  Someone's house is in foreclosure. Or what about that embarrassing automated message when you call someone "this phone is temporarily out of service, please call again later".  Awkward.  But what do we do.  We think, hey I can give them a ride if my schedule permits it, or they can crash on my sofa for a little while.  How many people think, "I can sell my television to give them the money to get their car fixed". To my fashionistas, "I can sell my shoes so they can pay their light bill".  Whatever the case may be, we do not like to inconvenience ourselves too much for a fellow Christian.  In the old church, people would actually sell their possessions to make sure everyone's needs were met.  Not just your biological family, your family in Christ also.  Could you imagine?

I know things were a lot simpler in the old church.  The church was much smaller and people did not need as much.  In today's society there is a grey area on the definition of a "need", since technology is so intertwined in our lives.  People feel like they need an iPhone.  Children feel like their lives will end if they don't have a fresh pair of jordans.  I am NOT talking about those luxuries ya'll.  But what about a car? Or any type of phone? Would you give up your xbox so a friend could have a car?  Without them asking? I guess the facts remain the same on basic needs; everyone deserves food, water, and shelter.  Are you willing to sell your possessions for the next Christian you know that is struggling? I just challenge you to pray about this and see where the Lord leads your heart.  I feel like we can learn something from our brothers and sisters in Acts.

What do you think?

Happy Wednesday!

Peplum Please

Lanvin showed us that peplum wasn't going anywhere in the fall/winter twenty-twelve show, and darn it that makes me a happy camper! I love peplum because they are just so freaking cute! They give everyone hips.  Hips are feminine and ladies its ok to have (or make the illusion of having) hips! I talked about my love for a little hip action here years ago and I'm sticking to my guns. Now I'm loving the peplum top for the warmer weather.  They're polished, they're cute, and they make you feel like the lovely lady you are!

I love the half sleeve peplum top the best because they look the most polished.  Aimee styles it to perfection with the skinny distressed jean and strappy heels.  I believe this bad boy is from h&m.

My girl gives us a little peek-a-boo action with the half sleeve. Black on black on black!

I love the shirt and the heels, the pants not too much. I'm not trying to be funny but those just look like her big brothers hand me downs. Anywho, focus on the top, NICE!
Krystal looks great with her sleeveless peplum.  Since it will be hot as hades outside, sleeveless is a better option for the sweaty ladies. I understand. As we know some women are not comfortable with their arms so the half sleeve is still a great option.

Zara and Kate Spade have a few fun options as well.  That zebra print looks amazing on!  So go ahead and add a little peplum to your summer wardrobe. You will look fabulous!

Happy Wednesday!

The Met '12

Nina Dobrev in Donna Karan
My favorite look of the night
If you are a fashion fanatic like myself, you had to be blown away by the extraordinary end high gowns on the red carpet last night.  I was folding clothes in my bed (I've been under the weather) watching the live footage on vogue.com.  I got a little instagram happy posting pictures of my favorite looks. I felt like the paparazzi! Or an ill loser. Whatever. Don't you judge me! Anywho, everyone is calling the Met Gala the Oscars of fashion, but I disagree. You can't compare the two. I'm not trying to be funny but the Oscars have nothing on the Met Gala.  Here, you are able to see beloved artists from every genre! Renowned actors, actresses, muscians, and models flock the red carpet flaunting the finest fabrics in the world while they pose with the genius designer that created them! Geez! I know I am extra excited but the Metropolitan Museum of Arts was oozing with fabulousness last night! This costume gala is thee most fashionable night of the year. Sit back Oscars.

This year's art exhibition pays tribute to Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada, two iconic Italian designers. Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations explore the parallels of the two Italian houses in different eras.  I want to see this exhibit! In the meantime these current couture looks will have to amuse my yearning.

Solange in Rachel Roy
Love it! I'm partial to Solange and Rachel though
Jessican Stem in Dior
Werk! She's like, "these biddies don't have anythang on me!"
SJP in Valentino.
I just love her, even when she looks like walking drapes...
Katherine McPhee in Elie Saab
She looks smashing! I know I am a cornball.
Jessica Pare in L' Wren Scott
Bey in Givenchy
B is always over the top. She can't help herself.
Christina Ricci in Thakoon with Thakoon
Very original.  Maybe a little weird but I like it.
Karolina Kurkova in Rachel Zoe with Rachel
Rachel looks terrified doesn't she?
Chanel Iman in Tom Ford with Tom
Are those feathers or fur? *shrugs*
Lala Anthony in Zac Posen with her hubby Carmelo
Skull slippers Melo. Really.
Gisele and Tom Brady in Givenchy and David Yurman
Nice couple. I'm so glad he cut his hair!

Now that is a fabulous red carpet! These are just a few of the looks I enjoyed. To see the rest go to The Huffington Post and Vogue.com.

Happy Tuesday!

Curved Heels

Miu Miu curved heels are so much fun. Even the wedges are fabulous.  Women have been hitting the streets in these chic shoes for a while now but I still love them.  This is one trend that should stay around for a while.

Happy Monday!
